SEC Filing Impact Tracker
How stocks actually react to high-importance SEC filings. SEC filings only — news-wire events are not included. Every statistic is computed from Wiseek's scored filing feed (importance 7–10, U.S.-listed companies) joined to captured closing prices — free, source-linked, and downloadable. Updated several times daily. Last computed 2026-09-08 12:03 UTC.

Key findings
- Negative-sentiment filings scored 9–10 trade a median -4.73% from their publication price, and 61.9% are below it (n=420).
- The sentiment label separates outcomes by 4.8 percentage points among score 9–10 filings (positive median +0.09% vs negative -4.73%) — against a median of -0.81% across all measured filings in the same window, so the gap between labels, not the absolute level, is the meaningful comparison.
- 63.2% of score-9 filings have moved at least 5% in either direction since publication — these are genuinely market-moving events, not noise.
Did prices follow the sentiment label? Follow-through by cohort
Plain counts, no statistics: of the filings in each score-and-sentiment cohort, how many trade in the direction of their label as of 2026-09-04? "Moved with label" means below the publication price for negative filings, above it for positive. "No quote now" = the ticker has no close on the latest session (delisted, halted, or coverage gap) — for negative cohorts these are usually bad outcomes, so with-label shares are conservative. "Split-excluded" filings are removed because a stock split inside the window makes the raw price comparison meaningless.

Move since publication, by Wiseek score (30 days)
Change from each filing's price at publication to the ticker's latest captured close (as of 2026-09-04). Holding periods vary from 0 to 30 days within the window — this measures the cumulative reaction so far, not a fixed horizon. One observation per ticker per day; exclusions applied (see methodology). Measured: 4465 of 4971 ticker-day events; unmeasured names (delistings, trading halts, coverage gaps) tend to remove the worst outcomes, so negative aggregates here are conservative lower bounds.

Does the sentiment label predict direction?
Hit rate = share of filings whose price moved in the direction of Wiseek's sentiment label (down for negative, up for positive), publication → latest close. Two things to keep in mind when reading absolute medians: the baseline row shows the broad drift of all covered names in this window, and the publication price is captured minutes after the filing — for fast-moving positive news much of the initial pop is already in it, so what's measured afterward is the follow-through, where speculative names often fade. The gap between negative and positive labels is the more robust comparison — absolute levels move with the whole cohort.
| Group | Median move | Hit rate | Measured filings |
|---|
| Score 9–10, negative sentiment | -4.73% | 61.9% | 420 |
| Score 9–10, positive sentiment | +0.09% | 52.3% | 155 |

Next-trading-day reaction, by Wiseek score (30 days)
Why are these samples small? This measure needs the closing price of the trading day after each filing, and Wiseek began capturing daily closes on July 24, 2026 — so most filings in the window do not have a measurable next-day close yet (a historical backfill is in progress and the sample grows every trading day). Currently 4510 measured observations (one per ticker per trading day, after the exclusions listed in the methodology) against 5,947 raw filings in the window. A cell publishes nothing until it reaches 30 measured observations — a statistic is never computed from a handful of data points.

"Measured" counts one observation per ticker per trading day after exclusions; "filed" counts every filing at that score in the window. Most of the gap is closes not yet captured — see the note above.

Methodology
Universe: all SEC filings scored 7–10 by Wiseek's importance model for U.S.-listed tickers. Price at publication is captured when the article is published. Two reaction measures are reported. The move since publication is the change from the publication price to the ticker's most recent captured close — holding periods therefore vary within the window (0–30 days) and this measures cumulative reaction, not a fixed horizon. The T+1 result is the percentage change from the price at publication to the ticker's closing price on the next trading session after the filing's New-York calendar date. For filings published during market hours, the window includes the remainder of that session. Closing prices are the last regular-session trade from Wiseek's market-data snapshot, captured after 5:15pm ET — not the official consolidated close.
Exclusions (counted, never silently dropped): missing next-session close; price at publication under $0.10; absolute move over 300%; any stock-split taking effect inside the measurement window; sessions our capture missed. Current 30-day T+1 exclusion counts — sub_10c: 201 · move_cap_300: 10 · split_window: 11 · missing_close: 277. For the since-publication measure, events without a captured latest close are excluded and the measured share is shown beside those tables; because delisted or halted names drop out, its negative aggregates are lower bounds.
Aggregation order: exclusions are applied first; surviving events are collapsed to one observation per ticker per NY trading day (highest score wins); statistics use the median (robust to outliers); any cell with fewer than 30 observations is reported as "not enough data yet" rather than a number. Every statistic carries its sample size.
