Sezzle Inc. is a purpose-driven payments company that launched in 2017. The company operates a digital shopping and payments platform offering consumers a flexible alternative to traditional credit. Sezzle aims to provide consumers with control over their spending, opportunities to save money, and access to responsible credit. The platform was developed in response to the increasing share of digital shopping in the retail sector and the credit needs of younger generations, specifically Gen Z and Millennials. Gen Z consumers are defined as individuals currently between ages 18-29, and Millennials are defined as individuals currently between ages 30-48. These consumers use credit cards less frequently and often lack access to traditional credit. Sezzle's platform provides a flexible, secure, omnichannel payment alternative that "creditizes" traditional debit products. In June 2020, Sezzle elected to become a Delaware public benefit corporation, which are for-profit corporations intended to produce a public benefit and operate responsibly and sustainably.
