Production occurs at company-owned breweries and its cidery, as well as through contract arrangements at other facilities. All but the Pennsylvania Brewery have on-site tap rooms for retail sales. The company also operates smaller local breweries primarily for brewing and packaging beers for on-site retail sales at tap rooms and gift shops, restaurant activities, and developing new and traditional beers. These include the Samuel Adams Boston Downtown Tap Room in Boston, Massachusetts, and Dogfish Head Brewings and Eats in Rehoboth, Delaware. The Angel City Brewery in Los Angeles, California, is scheduled to close on April 30, 2026. Additionally, the company owns an apple orchard and cidery in Walden, New York, a restaurant called Chesapeake & Maine in Rehoboth, Delaware, and the Dogfish Inn, a boutique inn in Lewes, Delaware. Beverages are sold in various packages. Sleek cans, standard cans, and bottles are primarily for off-premise retailers like grocery stores, club stores, convenience stores, liquor stores, and e-commerce outlets. Kegs are mainly sold to on-premise retailers such as bars, restaurants, stadiums, and other venues.
