YORK WATER CO

The York Water Company is the oldest investor-owned water utility in the United States, organized under Pennsylvania law and operating continuously since 1816. Its primary business involves impounding, purifying to meet or exceed safe drinking water standards, and distributing water. The Company also owns and operates three wastewater collection systems and twelve wastewater collection and treatment systems. It operates within its franchised water and wastewater territory, covering portions of 58 municipalities across four counties in south-central Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PPUC) regulates the Company for both water and wastewater in areas such as billing, payment procedures, dispute processing, terminations, service territory, debt and equity financing, and rate setting, requiring PPUC approval for practice changes in these areas. Water service is provided via the Company's distribution system. For its primary system serving York and Adams Counties, the Company sources most water from the South Branch and East Branch of the Codorus Creek, which have a combined average daily flow of approximately 73.0 million gallons from a watershed area of approximately 117 square miles. This system includes Lake Williams and Lake Redman, holding up to approximately 2.5 billion gallons of water. These reservoirs are supplemented by a 15-mile pipeline from the Susquehanna River to Lake Redman, providing access to an additional supply of 12.0 million gallons of untreated water per day. For its Franklin County system, water is sourced from the Roxbury Dam on the Conodoguinet Creek, with an average daily flow of approximately 26.0 million gallons from a watershed area of approximately 33 square miles. This system includes a reservoir holding up to approximately 330 million gallons of water.
