Waton Group is a holding company incorporated in the British Virgin Islands, providing securities brokerage and financial technology services primarily through its Hong Kong subsidiaries, Waton Securities International Limited (WSI) and Waton Technology International Limited (WTI). WSI, founded in 1989, is an integrated securities broker in Hong Kong. It offers securities brokerage services for securities listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (including Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect and Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect), the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), and the Nasdaq Stock Market. WSI also provides margin financing and other ancillary services via its electronic trading platform to corporate and individual brokerage customers, as well as bond distribution services. Additionally, WSI licenses trading platform apps and offers related support services, including upgrades, enhancements, and maintenance, to financial institutions. Since September 2023, WTI has also provided software licensing (including subscription-based) and related support services. WSI has developed Broker Cloud solutions for securities brokers, combining software licensing (including subscription-based) and support services, securities brokerage, and margin financing. These solutions provide a perpetual on-premise licensed trading platform app with front-, middle-, and back-office functions, allowing securities trading orders to be cleared and settled through WSI. WSI is licensed for Type 1 (dealing in securities), Type 4 (advising on securities), Type 5 (advising on futures contracts), and Type 9 (asset management) regulated activities under HKSFO in Hong Kong, and is a Hong Kong Stock Exchange participant holding one trading right.
