SolarWindow Technologies, Inc., effective March 9, 2015, is a pre-revenue company developing proprietary transparent electricity-generating coatings and application methods, referred to as "LiquidElectricity® Coatings." The flexibility of the LiquidElectricity® framework allows the company to target off-grid energy solutions across multiple industries, including architectural, automotive, agrivoltaic (agricultural greenhouse), aerospace, commercial transportation, and marine. LiquidElectricity® Coatings are under development at the U.S. Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) through a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA). SolarWindow® also receives support from commercial contract firms specializing in chemistry, coatings processes, equipment, and manufacturing. The company's commercial development efforts include seeking technology, product licensing, and joint venture arrangements. A near-term product iteration involves the electrification of glass surfaces. When applied to glass using proprietary processes, LiquidElectricity® could be fabricated into electricity-generating windows for potential use in skylights for recreational vehicles and marine vessels, and architectural glass in new construction and retrofit applications for commercial buildings.
