Werner Enterprises is a transportation and logistics company primarily involved in transporting truckload shipments of general commodities in both interstate and intrastate commerce. The company also offers logistics services through its Werner Logistics segment. Werner Enterprises believes it is one of the largest truckload carriers in the United States based on total operating revenues. Its headquarters are in Omaha, Nebraska. The company was founded in 1956 and incorporated in Nebraska in September 1982, completing its initial public offering in June 1986 with a fleet of 632 trucks as of February 1986. At the end of 2025, its Truckload Transportation Services ("TTS") segment operated a fleet of 7,100 trucks, consisting of 6,785 company-operated trucks and 315 owned and operated by independent contractors. The Werner Logistics segment operated an additional 27 drayage company trucks and 170 Final Mile delivery trucks at the end of 2025. The company has grown organically and through business acquisitions, which have expanded its fleet size, customer base, geographic market presence, and network of operational facilities. Werner Enterprises has two reportable segments: TTS and Werner Logistics. The TTS segment includes Dedicated and One-Way Truckload services. As of December 31, 2025, Dedicated had 4,850 trucks and provides truckload services specifically for a customer, typically for a retail distribution center or manufacturing facility, using either dry van or specialized trailers.
