Of these, 423 were company-operated and 5,546 were run by 203 franchisees. Internationally, there were 1,428 Wendy's restaurants in operation across 38 foreign countries and U.S. territories. Of these international locations, 1,417 were operated by 117 franchisees, and 11 were company-operated in the United Kingdom. The Wendy's Company's corporate predecessor was incorporated in Ohio in 1929 and reincorporated in Delaware in June 1994.
