We are a biotechnology company focused on using human genetics to treat neurological diseases. Our product pipeline includes programs for Alzheimer's disease (AD), Friedreich's ataxia (FA), Parkinson's disease (PD), and other central nervous system (CNS) diseases. Many programs originate from our TRACER™ (Tropism Redirection of AAV by Cell-type-specific Expression of RNA) adeno-associated virus (AAV) capsid discovery platform. This platform generates novel capsids, called TRACER Capsids, and identifies associated receptors to potentially enable high brain penetration for genetic medicines after intravenous (IV) dosing. Some programs are wholly-owned, while others are developed with licensees and collaborators such as Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease; Novartis Pharma AG; Neurocrine Biosciences, Inc.; and Transition Bio, Inc. We are developing our own pipeline of drug candidates for neurological diseases, with a focus on AD. Our wholly-owned prioritized pipeline includes two tau targeting programs: VY1706, a tau silencing gene therapy for AD, and VY7523, an anti-tau antibody for AD. VY1706 is a gene therapy that uses an intravenously delivered TRACER Capsid containing a vectorized small interfering RNA targeting tau mRNA. In a non-human primate (NHP) study, a single 1.3E13 vector genomes per kilogram (vg/kg) IV dose of VY1706 reduced tau mRNA levels by 50% to 73% across the cerebral cortex, including brain areas where tau accumulates in AD.
