Veru Inc. is a late clinical stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing novel medicines for cardiometabolic and inflammatory diseases. The company's drug development program includes two late-stage new chemical entities: enobosarm and sabizabulin. Enobosarm is an oral selective androgen receptor modulator ("SARM") designed to make weight reduction by GLP-1 RA drugs more tissue selective for fat loss and lean mass preservation, aiming for improved body composition, physical function, and clinically meaningful incremental weight reduction compared to GLP-1 RA monotherapy. Sabizabulin, a microtubule disruptor, is being developed for treating inflammation in atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. On December 30, 2024, Veru sold its FDA-approved commercial product, the FC2 Female Condom® (Internal Condom), which provided dual protection against unplanned pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. Veru is a Wisconsin corporation, originally incorporated in 1971 as The Wisconsin Pharmacal Company, Inc. In 1996, the company acquired worldwide rights to its first-generation female condom, divested other businesses, and changed its name to "The Female Health Company." On October 31, 2016, the acquisition of Aspen Park Pharmaceuticals, Inc. ("APP Acquisition") transitioned the company from a single-product company selling FC2 to a biopharmaceutical company with a drug development program. On July 31, 2017, the corporate name changed to "Veru Inc." On August 8, 2025, the Company effected a 1-for-10 reverse stock split of its issued and outstanding common stock.
