UTG INC

UTG, Inc. is an insurance holding company incorporated in Delaware in 2005 and based in Stanford, KY. The Company's main subsidiary is Universal Guaranty Life Insurance Company (UG). UTG and its primary subsidiary operate within a single significant segment: insurance. The holding company itself does not have significant business operations and primarily relies on fees, dividends, and other distributions from its operating subsidiary for cash flow to meet its obligations. The Company's cash outlays mainly cover operational costs and the repurchase of its common stock. As of December 31, 2025, UTG had consolidated assets of $491 million, consolidated liabilities of $258 million, and total shareholders' equity of $233 million. Mr. Jesse T. Correll, UTG's Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors, is also the Company's largest shareholder, controlling approximately 69% of UTG's outstanding stock directly and indirectly as of December 31, 2025, through his ownership of First Southern Funding LLC and First Southern Bancorp, Inc. First Southern Bancorp, Inc. operates through its 95% indirectly owned subsidiary bank, First Southern National Bank, which conducts banking activities across multiple locations in south-central and western Kentucky.
