Talen Energy Corp

Talen is an independent power producer and energy infrastructure company that owns and operates approximately 13.1 GW of power infrastructure in the United States. This includes 2.2 GW of nuclear power and a dispatchable fossil fleet. The company produces and sells electricity, capacity, and ancillary services into wholesale U.S. power markets. Its generation fleet is primarily located in the Mid-Atlantic, Ohio, and Montana. Talen owns and operates over 5.7 GW of low- and zero-carbon baseload generation. This includes a 90% interest in the 2.5 GW Susquehanna facility, which is the seventh largest nuclear-powered generation facility in the U.S. In 2025, Susquehanna produced approximately 17 TWh of zero-carbon power at an all-in cost of approximately $27 per MWh. Susquehanna has typically accounted for approximately half of Talen's total annual generation. The company recently added an additional 2.8 GW of low-carbon generation through the acquisitions of Freedom and Guernsey, which are H-class combined-cycle baseload natural gas facilities. Talen also entered into an agreement to acquire the Lawrenceburg Power Plant and Waterford Energy Center, combined-cycle baseload natural gas facilities totaling an additional 2.0 GW in Indiana and Ohio, as part of the pending Cornerstone Acquisition.
