Taylor Devices, Inc., incorporated in New York on July 22, 1955, designs, develops, manufactures, and markets shock absorption, rate control, and energy storage devices for various types of machinery, equipment, and structures. The company also develops new and advanced technology products in addition to its existing product lines. Its principal products are grouped into nine categories: Seismic Dampers, Fluidicshoks®, Crane and Industrial Buffers, Self-Adjusting Shock Absorbers, Liquid Die Springs, Vibration Dampers, Machined Springs, Custom Shock and Vibration Isolators, and Custom Actuators. Custom versions of these products are also designed and manufactured for aerospace and defense applications. Seismic Dampers, which mitigate earthquake effects on structures, represent a substantial portion of the company's sales. Fluidicshoks® are compact shock absorbers with capacities up to 19,200 inch-pounds, available in 12 standard sizes for defense, aerospace, and commercial industries. Crane and Industrial Buffers are larger versions of Fluidicshoks® with capacities up to 10,890,000 inch-pounds, produced in over 50 standard sizes for industrial applications such as cranes, crane trolleys, truck docks, ladle and ingot cars, ore trolleys, and train car stops. Self-Adjusting Shock Absorbers, which include versions of Fluidicshoks® and crane and industrial buffers, automatically adapt to different impact conditions and are designed for high-cycle applications primarily in heavy industry. Liquid Die Springs are components used in machinery and equipment for manufacturing tools and dies. Vibration Dampers are primarily used by the aerospace and defense industries to manage the response of electronics and optical systems to air, ship, or spacecraft vibration. Machined Springs are precisely controlled mechanical springs made from various materials.
