Talkspace, Inc. is a virtual behavioral healthcare company that provides convenient and affordable access to a network of qualified providers for virtual psychotherapy and psychiatry. Founded in 2012, Talkspace offers comprehensive mental health care, including therapy for individuals, couples, and teens, as well as psychiatric treatment and medication management for individuals aged 18 and older, and self-guided tools and resources. The company's services are delivered through an encrypted web and mobile platform that complies with HIPAA, federal, and state regulations. Talkspace serves customers through three main channels: Payor, Direct-to-Enterprise (DTE), and Consumer. Payor customers include health insurance plans from commercial and government institutions, and employee assistance programs, which offer their members access to the platform at in-network reimbursement rates. DTE customers are enterprises that provide their members access to the platform under an active contract with Talkspace. Consumer customers are individual subscribers who subscribe directly to the platform. The company operates a nationwide network of over 5,700 licensed providers across all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. These providers, including therapists and psychiatric providers, have specialized knowledge in more than 150 conditions and treatment modalities. Talkspace providers do not prescribe controlled substances, in accordance with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Ryan Haight Act. Psychiatry clinicians may refer members to a primary care provider or in-person psychiatrist if a clinical need arises, such as for potential needs for controlled substances.
