Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. is a global provider of hand tools, power tools, outdoor products, and related accessories, as well as a leading provider of engineered fastening solutions. The company was founded in 1843 and incorporated in Connecticut in 1852. In March 2010, it merged with The Black & Decker Corporation, which was founded in 1910. Following the merger, the company changed its name from The Stanley Works to Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. Its principal executive office is located at 1000 Stanley Drive, New Britain, Connecticut 06053. In 2025, the company reported consolidated annual revenues of $15.1 billion. Approximately 62% of its 2025 revenues were generated in the United States, with 16% from Europe, 13% from emerging markets, and 4% from Canada. The company has reshaped its portfolio through several divestitures. In July 2022, it sold its Convergent Security Solutions (CSS) business, which included commercial electronic security and healthcare businesses, for net proceeds of $3.1 billion. It also sold its Mechanical Access Solutions (MAS) business, comprising the automatic doors business, for net proceeds of $916 million. In August 2022, the company sold its Oil & Gas business, which included pipeline services and equipment. In April 2024, it sold its Infrastructure business, consisting of attachment and handheld hydraulic tools, for net proceeds of $729 million. Most recently, in December 2025, the company announced an agreement to sell its Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing (CAM) business for $1.8 billion in cash. These divestitures aim to simplify and streamline the portfolio to focus on its market positions in tools and outdoor products, as well as engineered fastening systems.
