Smurfit Westrock plc

Smurfit Westrock is a global leader in sustainable, paper-based packaging, formed in July 2024 through the strategic combination of Smurfit Kappa Group plc and WestRock Company. Smurfit Kappa was a leading integrated corrugated packaging manufacturer in Europe with a large-scale presence in Latin America. WestRock was a leader in North America in corrugated and consumer packaging solutions and a multinational provider of sustainable fiber-based paper and packaging solutions. The company offers extensive scale, quality products, and geographic reach and diversity. Smurfit Westrock was initially incorporated in Ireland on July 6, 2017, as Cepheidway Limited. On September 12, 2023, Smurfit Kappa and WestRock announced their agreement to combine. Prior to the combination, Smurfit Westrock re-registered as an Irish public limited company and was renamed "Smurfit Westrock plc." Upon completion of the combination, Smurfit Kappa and WestRock became wholly-owned subsidiaries of Smurfit Westrock, which now serves as the holding company for the combined group. Smurfit Westrock had no historical operations or business activities from its incorporation until just before the combination. Smurfit Westrock has a dual listing on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and the Official List of the U.K. Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), with its ordinary shares trading on the NYSE and the London Stock Exchange's main market for listed securities.
