Star Gold Corp.

Star Gold Corp. is an exploration stage company focused on acquiring and exploring properties with precious and base metal deposits, with the goal of advancing them toward production. The company's business involves exploring, evaluating, and acquiring mineral prospects that have the potential for economic deposits, particularly gold and silver. Star Gold Corp. originally leased, with an option to acquire, certain unpatented mining claims in Nevada, which form part of what is known as the "Longstreet Property" or "Longstreet Project." The Longstreet Property consists of 142 mineral claims: 75 original optioned claims (70 unpatented staked claims and 5 claims leased from local ranchers under the "Clifford Lease"), plus 50 claims subsequently staked by Star Gold. This property covers approximately 2,500 acres (1,012 ha) and is currently at an intermediate stage of exploration. As an exploration stage mineral company, Star Gold Corp. does not have any producing mines. Mineral exploration is a research activity that does not produce a product. The company acquires properties believed to have potential for economic concentrations of minerals, which may include unpatented mining claims on federal land, leased claims, or private property. An unpatented mining claim represents an acquirable interest in mineral rights on open federal public domain lands. The company was incorporated on December 8, 2006, as Elan Development, Inc., and changed its name to Star Gold Corp. on April 25, 2008.
