Through its Hawthorne segment, the company is a leading provider of nutrients, lighting, and other materials for indoor and hydroponic gardening in North America. Signature brands in this segment include General Hydroponics®, Gavita®, Botanicare®, Gro Pro®, Mother Earth®, Grower's Edge®, HydroLogic Purification System®, and CYCO®. The company's heritage dates back to a company founded by O.M. Scott in Marysville, Ohio in 1868.
