J. M. Smucker Company manufactures and markets branded food and beverage products globally, with the majority of its sales in the United States. The company, established in 1897 and incorporated in Ohio in 1921, is known for its portfolio of trusted, iconic, market-leading brands sold primarily to consumers through retail outlets in North America. Its operations outside the U.S. are principally in Canada, and products are also exported to other countries. Net sales outside the U.S. represented 4 percent of consolidated net sales for 2026. J. M. Smucker Company has five reportable segments: U.S. Retail Coffee, U.S. Retail Frozen Handheld and Spreads, U.S. Retail Pet Foods, Sweet Baked Snacks, and Away From Home. The Away From Home operating segment met reportable segment criteria during the fourth quarter of 2026. The company completed several divestitures. On March 3, 2025, it sold certain Sweet Baked Snacks value brands, including trademarks, licenses, a manufacturing facility in Chicago, Illinois, and approximately 400 employees, to JTM Foods, LLC. These brands generated net sales of approximately $48.4 million in 2025 and $30.0 million in 2024 under Smucker's ownership, included in the Sweet Baked Snacks segment. On December 2, 2024, J. M. Smucker Company sold the Voortman® business to Second Nature Brands. This transaction included products under the Voortman brand, certain trademarks, a leased manufacturing facility in Burlington, Ontario, and approximately 300 employees. The Voortman business generated net sales of approximately $86.3 million in 2025 and $65.0 million in 2024 under Smucker's ownership, also included in the Sweet Baked Snacks segment.
