Star Bulk Carriers Corp. is a Marshall Islands-incorporated company that commenced operations on December 3, 2007, upon taking delivery of its first vessel. The company's executive offices are located in Maroussi, Athens, Greece. On April 9, 2024, Star Bulk Carriers Corp. completed a merger with Eagle in an all-stock transaction, where each Eagle shareholder received 2.6211 shares of Star Bulk common stock for each share of Eagle common stock. Following the merger, Eagle common stock ceased trading. On August 1, 2024, Eagle's 5.00% Convertible Senior Notes, which Star Bulk Carriers Corp. assumed and guaranteed, matured and were converted into 5,971,284 shares of Star Bulk common stock. As part of the Eagle Merger, Star Bulk Carriers Corp. acquired Eagle's fleet of 52 dry bulk Supramax/Ultramax vessels, although Eagle had agreed to sell two vessels prior to the merger, which were delivered to new owners after the merger. In 2023, Star Bulk Carriers Corp. entered into five firm shipbuilding contracts with Qingdao Shipyard Co., Ltd. for five 82,000 dwt Kamsarmax newbuilding vessels, with deliveries scheduled from April 2026 through September 2026. In October 2025, the company entered into three novation and amendment agreements with Hengli Shipbuilding (Singapore) Pte. Ltd.
