Sonic Automotive, Inc. is one of the largest automotive retailers in the United States, measured by total revenue. The company was incorporated in Delaware in 1997. As of December 31, 2025, Sonic Automotive operates three reportable segments: the Franchised Dealerships Segment, the EchoPark Segment, and the Powersports Segment. The Franchised Dealerships Segment operates 111 stores across 18 states, comprising 134 new vehicle franchises representing 24 different brands of cars and light trucks, and 16 collision repair centers. This segment provides sales of new and used cars and light trucks, replacement parts, vehicle maintenance, manufacturer warranty repairs, paint and collision repair services (Fixed Operations), and arranges third-party financing, extended warranties, service contracts, insurance, and other aftermarket products (F&I). The EchoPark Segment consists of 18 stores operating in 10 states. This segment specializes in selling used cars and light trucks and arranging third-party F&I product sales, without offering customer-facing Fixed Operations services. The Powersports Segment operates 14 stores in three states, consisting of 41 franchises at 11 full-service dealerships and three authorized retail outlets. This segment offers sales of new and used powersports vehicles, such as motorcycles, personal watercraft, and all-terrain vehicles, along with Fixed Operations activities and third-party F&I services. The segments generally operate independently, sharing some back-office functions and corporate overhead costs.
