Ryvyl is a financial technology company that provides global payment acceptance and disbursement solutions. The company enables merchants to accept credit card payments by arranging services with third-party acquiring banks and payment processors. Credit card payment processing services account for the substantial majority of Ryvyl's revenues. Additionally, Ryvyl offers NEMS Core, an internally developed platform launched in late 2024 that allows businesses to efficiently distribute funds. The company was incorporated in Nevada on April 10, 2007, under its former name, ASAP Expo, Inc. On April 12, 2018, the company acquired PrivCo's blockchain gateway and payment system business, point of sale system business, delivery business, and kiosk business, along with associated bank and merchant accounts and intellectual property, referred to as the "GreenBox Business." In exchange for the GreenBox Business, the company assumed PrivCo's liabilities incurred in the normal course of that business. The company formally changed its name to "GreenBox POS, LLC" on May 3, 2018, and then to "GreenBox POS" on December 13, 2018. On October 13, 2022, GreenBox POS changed its name to "RYVYL Inc." On December 19, 2025, the company increased its authorized common stock from 100,000,000 shares to 500,000,000 shares. Effective January 2, 2026, the company completed a reverse stock split, combining every 35 shares of its pre-split common stock into one share.
