We are a vertical software-as-a-service (SaaS) and artificial intelligence (AI) company that provides software and related services to help research-intensive organizations simplify the research process, save time, and save money. Our software platforms are typically sold to corporate, academic, government, and individual researchers as cloud-based SaaS through auto-renewing license agreements. Corporate, academic, and government customers usually sign annual or multi-year agreements, paid annually in advance. Individual researchers can choose annual or month-to-month agreements, typically billed monthly. Our Platforms also facilitate the sale of published scientific, technical, and medical (STM) content as individual articles (Transactions), either standalone or through our research Platform solutions. When Platform solutions are used to purchase Transactions, customers pay through monthly billing or, for individual researchers, via credit card. Additionally, our Platforms facilitate rights and permissions for customers to reuse content, ensuring copyright compliance for research, regulatory, and marketing uses, as well as for utilizing content with AI applications and for training AI models. Our Platforms enable life science and other research-intensive organizations to simplify their research and development activities through advanced search (Discovery Tools), tools to access and buy STM articles (Access), and tools to manage content across the enterprise and individually (Manage). The Platforms also include advanced AI (Generative AI) based assistants to help researchers understand article quality, speed up the review process, and understand how research papers relate to each other.
