We are a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing oncolytic immunotherapies for cancer patients. Our proprietary oncolytic immunotherapy product candidates are designed to activate the immune system against cancer. Oncolytic immunotherapy uses certain viruses to selectively replicate in and kill tumors, and to induce an anti-tumor immune response. Our product candidates incorporate multiple mechanisms into an "off-the-shelf" approach to maximize the immune response against a patient's cancer. Our proprietary RPx platform is based on an engineered strain of herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV-1) backbone with added payloads intended to maximize immunogenic cell death and induce a systemic anti-tumor immune response. The RPx platform is designed for dual local and systemic activity, involving direct virus-mediated killing of the tumor, release of tumor-derived antigens, and alteration of the tumor microenvironment to initiate a strong and durable systemic response. We currently have three RPx product candidates in our development pipeline: RP1 (vusolimogene oderparepvec), our lead product candidate, RP2, and RP3. We are conducting clinical trials of RP1 as a monotherapy and in combination with anti-PD-1 therapy, aiming to establish a major skin cancer treatment franchise.
