Vicarious Surgical is developing a new category of intelligent and affordable single-port surgical robots. The company combines advanced miniaturized robotics, computer science, sensing, and 3D visualization to create systems that virtually transport surgeons inside the patient for minimally invasive surgery. Their next-generation robotics technology, designed with proprietary human-like motion, aims to improve surgical precision, ergonomics, and procedural efficiency. The company's single-port surgical robot, called the Vicarious Surgical System, is being developed to address limitations in current robot-assisted minimally invasive surgery. If authorized by the FDA, this system will allow surgeons to perform procedures with greater dexterity and access across the abdomen, offering better visibility and sensor-based feedback through a small single incision.
