Personalis develops, markets, and sells advanced cancer genomic testing services. These services are utilized by physicians to detect residual or recurrent cancer, monitor treatment response, and gain insights for therapy selection. Pharmaceutical companies use Personalis' services for translational research, biomarker discovery, personalized cancer therapy development, and clinical trials. The company also provides whole exome sequencing services for other diagnostic companies and whole genome sequencing services for population sequencing initiatives. All testing services are performed in a 100,000 square foot, CLIA-certified and CAP-accredited laboratory located in Fremont, California. Personalis was incorporated in Delaware in 2011 and became publicly traded in 2019. For cancer patients, Personalis offers NeXT Personal® Dx, a tumor-informed liquid biopsy test introduced in the fourth quarter of 2023. This test is designed for the detection of minimal residual disease (MRD) and recurrence monitoring in patients with solid tumor cancers. NeXT Personal Dx involves initial whole genome sequencing of matched tumor and normal samples to create a personalized detection assay for each patient, which is then used to test blood/plasma samples. In the first quarter of 2026, Personalis introduced Real-Time Variant Tracker™ as a new feature for its ultrasensitive test, providing clinicians with additional reporting of detected resistance-associated and therapeutically targetable mutations.
