JBS S.A., through its indirect wholly-owned subsidiaries, beneficially owns 82.28% of Pilgrim's outstanding common stock. The company markets its portfolio of fresh, prepared, and value-added meat products to customers across the U.S., the U.K. and Europe, Mexico, and in over 120 other countries. Sales efforts primarily target the foodservice industry, including chain restaurants and food processors like Chick-fil-A®, and retail customers such as grocery store chains and wholesale clubs including Kroger®, Costco®, Publix®, and H-E-B® in the U.S. In the U.K. and Europe, customers include chain restaurants like McDonald's® and grocery store chains such as Sainsbury's, Tesco, and Waitrose. In Mexico, customers include grocery store chains like Wal-Mart®. As a vertically integrated company, Pilgrim's controls nearly every phase of the production process. The company operates with approximately 4,500 growers, 36 feed mills, 50 hatcheries, 39 processing plants, 28 prepared foods cook plants, 38 distribution centers, 10 protein conversion facilities, and five pet food plants. Pilgrim's operates on a 52/53-week fiscal year ending on the Sunday falling on or before December 31. Fiscal years 2025 and 2024 were both 52-week fiscal years. The company operates in three reportable segments: U.S., Europe, and Mexico. Pilgrim's produces or purchases for resale chicken products through its operations in the U.S. and the U.K.
