Bank of the Ozarks, Inc. is an Arkansas-incorporated bank holding company, registered under the Bank Holding Company Act of 1956, that owns an Arkansas state-chartered subsidiary bank, Bank of the Ozarks. As of December 31, 2016, the Company operated through 250 offices across Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, Texas, Alabama, South Carolina, New York, and California. The Company also owns Ozark Capital Statutory Trust II, Ozark Capital Statutory Trust III, Ozark Capital Statutory Trust IV, and Ozark Capital Statutory Trust V. Additionally, as a result of its February 10, 2015 acquisition of Intervest Bancshares Corporation, the Company owns Intervest Statutory Trust II, Intervest Statutory Trust III, Intervest Statutory Trust IV, and Intervest Statutory Trust V. These trusts are 100%-owned finance subsidiary business trusts established for issuing subordinated debentures and related trust preferred securities. Indirectly through the Bank, the Company also owns a subsidiary that manages investment securities, a subsidiary involved in real estate development, a subsidiary that owns private aircraft, and various other entities holding loans, foreclosed assets, or tax credits, or engaging in other activities.
