Orbit International Corp. designs, manufactures, and sells customized electronic components and subsystems, and provides power solutions and systems integration services. The company was incorporated in New York on April 4, 1957, as Orbit Instrument Corp., changed its state of incorporation to Delaware in December 1986, and adopted its current name in July 1991. Orbit International Corp. operates through its Orbit Instrument Division and wholly owned subsidiaries: Behlman Electronics, Inc. ("Behlman"), Tulip Development Laboratory, Inc. ("TDL"), and Integrated Consulting Services, Inc., doing business as Integrated Combat Systems ("ICS"). Through its Orbit Instrument Division and TDL, the company designs, manufactures, and sells customized electronic components and subsystems. ICS, located in Louisville, Kentucky, specializes in systems integration for gun weapons systems and fire control interfaces, cable and harness assembly, and provides logistics support and documentation. Behlman designs and manufactures high-quality commercial power units, AC power, frequency converters, uninterruptible power supplies, and commercial-off-the-shelf ("COTS") power solutions. In October 2013, Orbit International Corp. decided to consolidate TDL's operations from Quakertown, PA, into its Hauppauge, NY facility, with the move scheduled for 2014. These operations will be conducted by a newly formed division of Orbit International Corp. The company operates in two industry segments. Its Electronics Group includes the Orbit Instrument Division and the TDL and ICS subsidiaries. Within this group, Orbit Instrument and TDL focus on the design and manufacture of electronic components and subsystems, while ICS handles system integration for gun weapons systems and fire control interfaces, cable and harness assembly, and logistics support and documentation.
