Orion Energy Systems, Inc. provides state-of-the-art light emitting diode ("LED") lighting systems, wireless Internet of Things ("IoT") enabled control solutions, commercial and industrial electric vehicle ("EV") charging infrastructure solutions, and lighting and electrical maintenance services. The company sells its products and services into various vertical markets within the broader commercial and industrial market segment, including big box retail, manufacturing, warehousing/logistics, commercial office, federal and municipal government, healthcare, and schools. Orion's services include turnkey installation for lighting and EV solutions, and system maintenance. Virtually all of its sales occur within North America. The principal lighting customers include large national account end-users, electrical distributors, electrical contractors, and energy service companies ("ESCOS"). A significant amount of lighting products are manufactured at its leased production facility in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, while products and components are also increasingly sourced from third parties. Orion differentiates itself by offering efficient light fixtures coupled with project management services for national account customers to retrofit multiple locations. These comprehensive services include initial site surveys and audits, utility incentive and government subsidy management, engineering design, and project management from delivery through to installation and controls integration and commissioning. The company began offering lighting and electrical maintenance services in fiscal 2021. Orion completed the acquisition of Stay-Lite Lighting on January 1, 2022, expanding its maintenance services capabilities. On October 5, 2022, Orion acquired Voltrek LLC, leveraging its project management and maintenance expertise into the EV sector.
