Natural Alternatives International, Inc. (NAI) is a leading formulator, manufacturer, and marketer of nutritional supplements. The company's primary business activity is providing private-label contract manufacturing services for companies that market and distribute vitamins, minerals, herbal, and other nutritional supplements, as well as other healthcare products, to consumers both within and outside the U.S. NAI offers a wide range of services to its customers, including scientific research, clinical studies, proprietary ingredients, customer-specific nutritional product formulation, product testing and evaluation, marketing management and support, packaging and delivery system design, regulatory review, and international product registration assistance. NAI also owns a patent estate related to the raw material ingredient beta-alanine. This ingredient is primarily commercialized through direct sales and supply agreements with third parties for its distribution and use under the company's CarnoSyn®, SR CarnoSyn®, and TriBsyn™ trademarks. The company also sells SR CarnoSyn® tablet products and TriBsyn™ capsule products as business-to-business private label products. NAI previously sold a branded version of its SR CarnoSyn® Wellness tablet product under the SustainedRx® brand and a product named Perfect Synergy® directly to consumers through Amazon and its own website, but this brand was discontinued during fiscal 2025. Originally founded in 1980, NAI reorganized as a Delaware corporation in 1989. Its principal executive offices are in Carlsbad, CA, with a primary U.S. manufacturing facility in Vista, California, and another manufacturing and warehousing facility in Carlsbad, California. In January 1999, NAI formed its wholly owned subsidiary, Natural Alternatives International Europe S.A. (NAIE), a Swiss corporation based in Manno, Switzerland.
