Matador Resources Company is an independent energy company focused on the exploration, development, production, and acquisition of oil and natural gas resources in the United States. The company emphasizes oil and natural gas shale and other unconventional plays. Its current operations are primarily concentrated in the oil and liquids-rich portion of the Wolfcamp and Bone Spring plays within the Delaware Basin, located in Southeast New Mexico and West Texas. Matador Resources Company and its subsidiaries include Matador, San Mateo Midstream, LLC (San Mateo), and Pronto Midstream, LLC (Pronto). On September 18, 2024, a subsidiary completed the Ameredev Acquisition, acquiring Ameredev Stateline II, LLC, which included oil and natural gas producing properties and undeveloped acreage in Lea County, New Mexico, and Loving and Winkler Counties, Texas, along with an approximate 19% stake in the parent company of Piñon Midstream, LLC. Previously, on April 12, 2023, a subsidiary completed the Advance Acquisition, acquiring Advance Energy Partners Holdings, LLC, which included oil and natural gas producing properties, undeveloped acreage, and midstream assets primarily in Lea County, New Mexico, and Ward County, Texas. On December 1, 2023, additional interests were acquired from affiliates of EnCap Investments L.P., including overriding royalty interests and royalty interests in certain oil and natural gas properties primarily in Lea County, New Mexico. As of December 18, 2024, San Mateo includes Pronto.
