The Mosaic Company is the world's leading producer and marketer of concentrated phosphate and potash crop nutrients. The company offers a broad range of phosphate- and potash-based crop nutrients and animal feed ingredients, serving customers in approximately 40 countries. Mosaic is the second largest integrated phosphate producer globally and one of the largest producers and marketers of phosphate-based animal feed ingredients in North America and Brazil. It is also the leading fertilizer production and distribution company in Brazil. Mosaic mines phosphate rock in Florida, Brazil, and Peru, processing it into finished phosphate products at facilities in Florida, Louisiana, and Brazil. The company is typically one of the top four global potash producers, mining potash in Saskatchewan and New Mexico. Other production, blending, or distribution operations are located in Brazil, China, India, and Paraguay. Mosaic's operations serve the top four nutrient-consuming countries: China, India, the U.S., and Brazil. The company was incorporated in Delaware in March 2004 and formed through the October 2004 combination of IMC Global Inc. and the fertilizer businesses of Cargill, Incorporated. Mosaic is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol "MOS" and is headquartered in Tampa, Florida. The business is conducted through wholly- and majority-owned subsidiaries, as well as businesses with less than a majority or non-controlling interest. Mosaic is organized into three reportable business segments: Phosphate, Potash, and Mosaic Fertilizantes. Corporate, Eliminations and Other includes intersegment eliminations, unrealized mark-to-market gains/losses on derivatives, investment in equity securities of Saudi Arabian Mining Company ("Ma'aden"), debt expenses, and the results of the China and India distribution businesses and Mosaic Biosciences. Mosaic accounts for approximately 10% of estimated global annual phosphate production.
