It is the first FDA-approved subcutaneous loop diuretic providing intravenous-equivalent diuresis at home. V-Go is a mechanical basal-bolus insulin delivery system worn like a patch, eliminating the need for multiple daily injections. It administers a continuous preset basal insulin rate over 24 hours and offers discreet on-demand bolus dosing at mealtimes. V-Go received 510(k) clearance from the FDA in 2010 and has been commercially available since 2012.
