Marcus & Millichap, Inc. (MMI) is a national real estate services firm focused on commercial real estate investment sales, financing, research, and advisory services. The company is the leading national investment brokerage firm in the $1 million to $10 million private client market, which consistently accounts for over 80% of total U.S. commercial property transactions greater than $1 million. As of December 31, 2025, MMI had 1,808 investment sales and financing professionals, primarily commission-based independent contractors, operating in over 80 offices across the United States and Canada. These professionals provide real estate investment brokerage and financing services to commercial real estate sellers and buyers. In 2025, MMI completed 8,818 sales, financing, and other transactions, totaling approximately $50.8 billion in sales volume. MMI was formed in June 2013 in preparation for the spin-off of Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services, Inc. (MMREIS), which was founded in 1971 as the real estate investment services business of the Marcus & Millichap Company. MMI's initial public offering was completed in November 2013. The company generates revenue primarily from real estate brokerage commissions upon property sales and financing fees upon property financing. Additional revenue comes from equity advisory services, loan sales, loan guarantees, and consulting and advisory services. In 2025, approximately 84% of MMI's revenues came from real estate brokerage commissions, 14% from financing fees, and 2% from other revenue, including consulting and advisory services.
