MGT was incorporated in Utah in 1977 and has its corporate office in Melbourne, Florida. Historically, the company operated in the cryptocurrency mining and hosting industry, primarily focusing on Bitcoin. During the fiscal year ended December 31, 2025, MGT underwent a significant strategic transition. For a significant portion of 2025, operations included hosting services for third-party miners and self-mining activities at its company-owned facility in LaFayette, Georgia. However, in March 2025, the lease with its largest hosting customer expired, and the company discontinued its remaining self-mining activities.
