Mercer International Inc. is a global forest products company operating through two main segments: Pulp and Solid Wood. The Pulp segment focuses on manufacturing, selling, and distributing pulp, electricity, and chemicals from its pulp mills. The Solid Wood segment manufactures, sells, and distributes lumber, manufactured products such as cross-laminated timber (CLT), glue-laminated timber (glulam), and finger joint lumber, along with wood pallets, electricity, biofuels, and wood residuals. These operations are conducted at sawmills and other facilities in Germany and mass timber facilities in North America. The company has a consolidated annual production capacity of approximately 2.1 million air-dried metric tonnes (ADMTs) of kraft pulp. For solid wood products, the capacity includes 1,023 million board feet (MMfbm) of lumber, 210,000 cubic meters (m³) of CLT, 45,000 m³ of glulam, and 17 million pallets. Additionally, Mercer produces 230,000 tonnes of biofuels, specifically wood pellets and briquettes, and has an electrical generation capacity of 398 megawatts (MW).
