Mechanics Bancorp is a financial holding company operating primarily through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Mechanics Bank, which is 121 years old. Mechanics Bank is a full-service community bank with 166 branches across California, Washington, Oregon, and Hawaii. On September 2, 2025, HomeStreet Bank merged into Mechanics Bank, with Mechanics Bank surviving as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mechanics Bancorp. Following this merger, the assets, liabilities, and operations of HomeStreet Bank became those of Mechanics Bank. Headquartered in Walnut Creek, California, Mechanics Bank offers a variety of products and services, including consumer and business banking, commercial lending, cash management services, private banking, and comprehensive wealth management and trust services. Before the merger on September 2, 2025, HomeStreet Bank focused on commercial banking, consumer banking, and real estate lending, which included construction and permanent loans for commercial real estate and single-family residences. HomeStreet Bank also sold insurance products to consumer clients and delivered financial products and services through bank branches, loan production offices, ATMs, and online, mobile, and telephone banking channels. Mechanics Bank stopped originating auto loans in February 2023 and serviced its existing auto loan portfolio until May 1, 2025. On May 1, 2025, it entered into a servicing agreement with a third-party servicer to manage its active auto loan portfolio, which consisted of new and pre-owned retail automobile sales contracts acquired from franchised and independent automobile dealerships in the United States.
