Lisata Therapeutics, Inc. is a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing, and commercializing new treatments for solid tumors and other serious diseases. The company's main investigational product is certepetide (formerly LSTA1 or CEND-1). Certepetide is designed to activate a specific uptake pathway, the C-end rule active transport mechanism, which helps co-administered or molecularly bound anti-cancer drugs target and penetrate solid tumors more effectively. This system works in a tumor-specific way, allowing anti-cancer drugs to accumulate more efficiently in tumors while normal tissues are expected to remain unaffected. Certepetide also modifies the tumor microenvironment by reducing T-regulatory cells and increasing cytotoxic T cells, making tumors more responsive to immunotherapies and inhibiting the spread of cancer. Certepetide is currently or has been studied in several Phase 2 clinical studies globally across various solid tumor types, including metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (mPDAC), cholangiocarcinoma, appendiceal cancer, colon cancer, and glioblastoma multiforme, in combination with different anti-cancer regimens.
