LENSAR, Inc. is a commercial-stage medical device company that designs, develops, and markets advanced laser systems for treating cataracts and managing pre-existing or surgically induced corneal astigmatism. The company's current systems are the LENSAR Laser System (LLS) and the ALLY Robotic Cataract Laser System (ALLY System). These systems incorporate proprietary technologies to assist surgeons in achieving better visual outcomes, efficiency, and reproducibility through advanced imaging, simplified procedure planning, efficient design, and precision. The ALLY System combines all features of the LLS with a dual-modality laser, integrated into a small, compact cataract treatment system designed for sterile cataract surgery in a single operating room. The ALLY System received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance in June 2022, with an initial launch in August 2022. It is available to all U.S. and EU cataract surgeons and has also received regulatory clearance in India, Taiwan, and certain other countries. Cataract surgery is one of the highest volume surgical procedures globally and the most common procedure performed by ophthalmic surgeons, according to the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO).
