Lument Finance Trust (LFT) is a real estate investment trust (REIT) that invests in, originates, finances, and manages a portfolio of commercial real estate (CRE) debt investments. The company primarily focuses on transitional floating rate CRE mortgage loans, particularly those involving middle-market multifamily assets. LFT may also invest in other CRE-related instruments, such as mezzanine loans, preferred equity, commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), fixed rate loans, and construction loans. LFT is externally managed by Lument Investment Management, LLC, a subsidiary of Lument Real Estate Capital Holdings, LLC. Lument is a subsidiary of ORIX Corporation USA, which in turn is a subsidiary of ORIX Corporation. ORIX Corporation is a Tokyo-based international financial services company with assets exceeding $116 billion as of December 2025. Lument Finance Trust was formed in March 2012 and began operations in May 2012. It has elected to be taxed as a REIT for U.S. federal income tax purposes. The company's common stock trades on the NYSE under the symbol "LFT," and its 7.875% Series A Cumulative Redeemable Preferred Stock trades under the symbol "LFTPrA." As of December 31, 2025, Lument, the parent of LFT's manager, had over 550 employees across more than 30 offices throughout the United States, providing LFT with access to a broad loan origination platform.
