Leggett & Platt, Incorporated is an international diversified manufacturer that designs and produces engineered components and products for homes and automobiles. The company's operations are organized into 13 business units, divided into six groups under three segments: Bedding Products; Specialized Products; and Furniture, Flooring & Textile Products. On August 29, 2025, the company divested its Aerospace Products Group, which was previously part of the Specialized Products segment. The Bedding Products segment, established in 1883, supports customer product needs from raw materials to components to finished mattresses and foundations, also providing distribution and fulfillment capabilities. This segment includes the Bedding Group, which comprises Steel Rod, Drawn Wire, U.S. Spring, Specialty Foam, Adjustable Bed, and International Bedding. The company operates a steel rod mill in the United States with an annual capacity of approximately 500,000 tons. Approximately half of this output is used internally by the company's wire drawing mills to supply nearly all the wire for its domestic innerspring operations and other businesses. Leggett & Platt also supplies steel rod and wire to trade customers across various markets. Its innerspring operations produce coils and semi-finished mattress products using internally designed and manufactured wire-forming machines. In Specialty Foam, the company blends polyols and chemical additives to enhance foam properties, then pours and fabricates foam for bedding and furniture applications. These specialty foam capabilities are used to produce mattress accessories and private label boxed mattresses, often incorporating innersprings in hybrid mattress designs.
