Kronos Worldwide Inc

Kronos Worldwide, Inc. is a global producer and marketer of titanium dioxide pigments, or TiO2. Incorporated in Delaware in 1989, Kronos sells and provides technical services for its products to approximately 3,000 customers in 100 countries, with most sales in Europe, North America, and the Asia Pacific region. TiO2 is a white inorganic pigment known for its durability and ability to provide whiteness, brightness, and opacity. It is a key component in everyday applications like coatings, plastics, and paper, as well as specialty products such as inks, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. TiO2 is considered superior to other white pigments due to its high hiding power, which is its ability to effectively cover or mask other materials. Its high refractive index makes it the largest commercially used whitening pigment. Effective July 16, 2024, Kronos acquired the remaining 50% joint venture interest in Louisiana Pigment Company, L.P. (LPC) from Venator Investments, Ltd. for $185 million, less a working capital adjustment. Prior to this, Kronos held a 50% joint venture interest in LPC. Following the acquisition, LPC became a wholly-owned subsidiary. In 2025, LPC merged into Kronos's wholly-owned subsidiary, Kronos Louisiana, Inc., forming the combined company "Kronos Louisiana."
