Koss Corporation designs, manufactures, and sells stereo headphones and related accessory products within the audio/video industry segment of the home entertainment and communication industry. Incorporated in Delaware in 1971, the company operates through its subsidiaries, Koss Corp B.V. and Koss U.K. Limited, which were formed to comply with European Union and U.K. requirements, respectively. Koss Corporation reports its financial results as a single reporting segment, reflecting its sole business line. The company's products are sold under the "Koss" name and as private label items through a diverse range of channels including U.S. distributors, international distributors, audio specialty stores, the internet, national retailers, grocery stores, electronics retailers, and prisons. Koss Corporation also sells products to distributors for resale to school systems and directly to other manufacturers for inclusion with their own products. International markets are served by domestic sales representatives and sales personnel located in the Netherlands and the Caucasus region, in addition to independent distributors in several foreign countries. In fiscal year 2026, approximately 80% of Koss Corporation's sales were derived from stereo headphones used for listening to music. The remaining approximately 20% of sales came from headphones used in communications, educational settings, and in conjunction with metal detectors, as well as those sold to original equipment manufacturers (OEM). The company sources complete stereo headphones manufactured to its specifications from various manufacturers in Asia, and also obtains raw materials for stereo headphone production at its plant in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
