The aircraft is optimized for urban routes, with a target range of up to 100 miles on a single charge. According to the company's modeling, over 99% of urban routes in cities like New York City and Los Angeles are significantly shorter than this. The aircraft is designed with multiple redundancies for safety and a lower noise footprint compared to similarly sized conventional aircraft or helicopters. It is quiet at takeoff and near silent when flying overhead, which is anticipated to allow operations from new vertiport locations and the more than 5,000 existing heliport and airport infrastructure facilities in the U.S. The company is currently certifying its aircraft with the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
