Our Company is a biotechnology company that develops and sells therapies for people with gastrointestinal (GI) and rare diseases. We focus on creating and commercializing innovative products in areas where there is a significant unmet medical need, using our expertise in GI and rare diseases. Our commercial product, LINZESS® (linaclotide), is the first U.S. FDA-approved guanylate cyclase type C (GC-C) agonist. In the U.S., LINZESS is indicated for irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C) in adults and pediatric patients 7 years of age and older, chronic idiopathic constipation (CIC) in adults, and functional constipation (FC) in pediatric patients ages 6-17 years-old. LINZESS is also available for adults with IBS-C or CIC in Mexico, adults with IBS-C or chronic constipation in Japan, and adults with IBS-C in China. Linaclotide is sold as CONSTELLA® in Canada for adults with IBS-C or CIC and pediatric patients ages 6-17 years old with FC, and to adults with IBS-C in certain European countries. We have strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical companies to develop and commercialize linaclotide globally, including with AbbVie Inc. in the U.S. and all countries worldwide except China (including Hong Kong and Macau) and Japan, AstraZeneca AB in China (including Hong Kong and Macau), and Astellas Pharma Inc. in Japan. Following our acquisition of VectivBio Holding AG in June 2023, we are developing apraglutide, a next-generation, synthetic long-acting peptide analog of glucagon-like peptide-2 (GLP-2), for short bowel syndrome (SBS) patients who rely on parenteral support (PS).
