IRADIMED CORPORATION develops, manufactures, markets, and distributes Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) compatible medical devices and related accessories, disposables, and services. The company was originally incorporated in Oklahoma in 1992 as IRI Development, Inc., and merged into the newly formed Delaware corporation, IRADIMED CORPORATION, in April 2014. IRADIMED is the sole known provider of a non-magnetic intravenous (IV) infusion pump system, the MRidium® 3870 MRI Compatible IV Infusion Pump System, which is specifically designed for safe use during MRI procedures and operates reliably in magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss. This system, introduced in 2025, was the first infusion delivery system to address many dangers and problems associated with MRI procedures. Standard infusion pumps contain magnetic and electronic components that can cause radio frequency interference and are hazardous near MRI magnets. The patented MRidium 3870 system features a non-magnetic ultrasonic motor, uniquely designed non-ferrous parts, and a touch screen user interface to safely and predictably deliver anesthesia and other critical care IV fluids during various MRI procedures. This solution ensures accurate, safe, and dependable fluid delivery before, during, and after an MRI scan, which is crucial for critically ill patients requiring continuous medication and for children and infants needing sedation for immobility during scans. The MRidium 3870 IV Infusion Pump System includes the MRidium 3870 MRI Compatible IV Infusion Pump, a non-magnetic IV pole mounting system, a non-magnetic mobile IV pole stand, proprietary disposable IV tubing sets, and other options like a Remote Display Unit.
