Ideal Power Inc. is focused on developing and commercializing its Bidirectional bipolar junction TRANsistor ("B-TRAN®") solid-state switch technology. The company was formed in Texas on May 17, 2007, and converted to a Delaware corporation on July 15, 2013. Ideal Power has generated $3.7 million in grant revenue for bidirectional power switch development. The company has launched two commercial products: the discrete B-TRAN® and the SymCool® Power Module. Commercial revenue was $37,728 for the year ended December 31, 2025, and $86,032 for the year ended December 31, 2024. The discrete B-TRAN® is a single B-TRAN® die packaged for electrical connection, designed for solid-state circuit protection and electric vehicle ("EV") contactor markets, addressing very low conduction loss needs. The SymCool® Power Module is a multi-die B-TRAN® module, also designed for solid-state circuit protection and EV contactor markets, to meet very low conduction loss requirements. R. Daniel Brdar retired as President and Chief Executive Officer and Board member on November 2, 2025. David Somo was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer and a Board member on November 3, 2025.
