Incyte is a global biopharmaceutical company that discovers, develops, and sells its own medicines. The company's global headquarters is in Wilmington, Delaware, where it handles discovery, clinical development, and commercial operations. Incyte also conducts clinical development and commercial operations from its European headquarters in Morges, Switzerland, and other offices across Europe, as well as its Japanese headquarters in Tokyo and Canadian headquarters in Montreal. Incyte focuses on three therapeutic areas: Hematology, Oncology, and Inflammation and Autoimmunity (IAI). In its Hematology segment, Incyte has four approved products and several clinical development programs. The approved products include JAKAFI (ruxolitinib), ICLUSIG (ponatinib), MONJUVI (tafasitamab-cxix)/MINJUVI (tafasitamab), and NIKTIMVO (axatilimab-csfr). JAKAFI (ruxolitinib) received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval in November 2011 for adults with intermediate or high-risk myelofibrosis (MF); in December 2014 for adults with polycythemia vera (PV) who did not respond well to or tolerate hydroxyurea; in May 2019 for steroid-refractory acute graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) in adult and pediatric patients 12 years and older; and in September 2021 for chronic GVHD after failure of one or two lines of systemic therapy in adult and pediatric patients 12 years and older. MF and PV are rare blood cancers called myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs), and GVHD is an immune response to a stem cell transplant. JAKAFI has orphan drug status from the FDA for MF, PV, and GVHD. Ruxolitinib phosphate also qualifies for the Small Biotech Exception from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) under the Inflation Reduction Act. MF is a rare, life-threatening condition and the most serious MPN, occurring as primary MF or secondary MF in patients who previously had PV or essential thrombocythemia (ET).
