INTERNATIONAL STAR INC is engaged in the acquisition and exploration of precious and base metals mineral properties. The company was organized in Nevada on October 28, 1993, as Mattress Showrooms, Inc., and changed its name to International Star, Inc. in 1997. Initially, it focused on the construction, sale, and operation of waste management systems, specializing in turnkey systems for hospital, industrial, petroleum, chemical, and municipal solid waste collection. This waste management business did not develop beyond the start-up stage.
In 1998, the company refocused its business on mineral exploration. Since then, it has examined various mineral properties prospective for precious and base metals and minerals, acquiring interests in those it believes may contain such resources. All of INTERNATIONAL STAR INC's properties are located in Arizona. The company has not yet established that any of its properties contain reserves, which are defined as the part of a mineral deposit that could be economically and legally extracted or produced at the time of determination. Further exploration is required to determine the economic and legal feasibility of mineral extraction. Currently, the company has no reserves and no income from mineral production.
The company acquired its initial mineral properties in March 1998 through a 20-year mining property lease agreement. This agreement granted rights to eight mineral claims located in the Detrital Wash area around mile marker 22 on Highway 93, Mohave County, Arizona, for the purpose of exploring for, extracting, treating, and selling minerals. In July 2004, INTERNATIONAL STAR INC acquired additional claims totaling approximately 20,000 acres adjacent to its original claims, pursuant to an exploration rights agreement with the claim holders.
